1. Why does my neck hurt?

Oh have I been there.
I used to experience neck pain when I first tried getting into headstand. After a few trials I just got so frustrated that I couldn't figure out what was going wrong. Years later (and 2 yoga teacher training courses later haha) I now have a much better understanding of the body and the mechanism with which it works.
If you tried half-pressing into headstand and your main concern is feeling pain and compression in your head or neck, make sure to watch this video through. There are different factors that play into neck compression so make sure to try all of them to figure out where your 'weakest link' is, so that you can focus on that aspect a little more.
